Investigation of the 26 Sep 2003 Hokkaido Earthquake

A severe earthquake struck Hokkaido, Japan, at 4:50 am on
September 26, 2003. Epicenter of the earthquake was about
80km east-southeast of Erimo Cape, offshore of Tokachi. The
depth of the epicenter was 42km, and its magnitude 8.0 (MJMA).

Isabel Affects North Carolina

There is uncertainty in the projected winds and path for this
storm. If Isabel takes a more easterly path after landfall
than the consensus forecast calls for (e.g. moving northward
along the west shore of Chesapeake Bay), the insured loss
is likely to be toward the higher end of the range due to
higher densities of population and property values.
