Catastrophe risk modeling firm EQECAT, Inc., has announced that version 3.14 of its modeling software platform, WORLDCATenterprise™, will use the SQL Server relational database (RDBMS). The adoption of the SQL Server platform will enable better run-time performance by giving clients the ability to add more hardware into the WORLDCATenterprise analysis cluster.
"This marks the first release of the EQECAT Transformation, setting the stage for significant future enhancements, in addition to the immediate performance improvements" said Bill Keogh, Senior Vice President of EQECAT Strategic Initiatives. "We will see improved functionality, scalability and transparency with each subsequent release. This is in response to our clients' needs to further integrate EQECAT models in to their business process."
WORLDCATenterprise version 3.14 will also be available as an upgrade to clients who cannot shift immediately to SQL Server from the currently supported SQLAnywhere RDBMS. EQECAT is migrating support to SQL Server in response to client demand and to improve performance scalability of WORLDCATenterprise.
