Catastrophe risk modeling firm EQECAT, Inc. announced today that Marian Szefler has joined EQECAT as Senior Vice President of Software Architecture.
Szefler will manage EQECAT’s overall re-architecture project and help to enhance further the current product development processes and procedures to ensure that quality releases are delivered on time.
"Marian's 20-plus years of international experience in management of software development will be a tremendous asset to EQECAT," said President Richard Clinton. "He will play a critical role in crafting our strategy as we broaden our product offerings."
Prior to joining EQECAT, Szefler served as senior vice president of software development for another leading catastrophe modeling firm, where he was responsible for the overall product development, quality assurance and release management organizations.
He earned a M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Gdansk University of Technology in Poland and completed all required courses leading to a Ph.D. in control systems engineering.
Mr. Szefler is based in Oakland, CA.
