WORLDCAT enterprise™ (WCe), as the Product name suggests, is a natural hazard catastrophe modeling system that permits insurers, reinsurers, and financial institutions to assess their financial risk exposure to windstorm and earthquake perils on a worldwide basis. The detail to which the hazards are characterized and the detail to which insured risks may be modeled are generally related to the degree to which detailed hazard and structural vulnerability information is available in a given country and the degree to which properties located in the country are insured against such perils by the Insurance/Reinsurance community.
