During each “modeled year”, a certain number of events take place, which generate a loss to the cedant portfolio. These losses are then used to compute the loss incurred by reinsurance treaties. For the following examples, we will used only six “simulated years”, whereas in reality, many more years are used 100,000 or more (I don’t know if I can mention the 150,000 years of Smart Simulation). The process is nevertheless the same for a large number of years.
