California Discussion
The EQECAT earthquake model has been updated to include the latest information regarding earthquake risk in the United States. Although the number of changes to the model is very discrete, the effects of these changes upon results can be quite marked. To understand this better the changes are discussed on a “market” basis for various areas. This discussion is focused upon the effects to California.
Changes to the USQUAKE model : Changes in Average Annual Loss
To evaluate spatial changes in earthquake risk in the US, a uniformly spaced portfolio (spaced at approximately 1.5 mile spacing, North-South and East-West, comprehensively over California).
