EQECAT European Windstorm Model: The Best Gets Even Better

One only needs to look at the historical record to see that windstorm is the primary natural hazard loss exposure for the insurance industry in Europe. In fact, of the forty costliest insured losses in the world from 1970 to 2002, eight of them were there in Europe and six of these were due to windstorm (Table 1).
