Hurricane Season 2007 Update (US/Caribbean, Japan, Australia) |

This session will focus on a review of the 2007 hurricane season in the Atlantic and Pacific Basins comprising a discussion as to major market events, modeled and estimated damage, and unique event characteristics affecting damage and loss outcomes for these events. This session will provide an EQECAT perspective on the events as modeled by EQECAT, and how the EQECAT models performed in predicting event results, including discussion on unique model characteristics such as near-term risk. This session will be led by the EQECAT Product Management and Consulting group.

Business Interruption Modeling in the Gulf of Mexico |
|
This session will provide a review of how the new EQECAT GOM hurricane model analyzes BI and contingent BI for the at risk assets in the Gulf of Mexico. The session will provide an overview of the modeling process used in the EQECAT GOM model, the embedded database of assets both on and offshore and the methodology used to predict “supply chain” type losses that stem from significant hurricane events in the Gulf related to the energy sector. A case study will be used to demonstrate risk differentiation in this market sector and model capabilities.

Earthquake Event Review 2007 |
|
A focus on major earthquake events occurring in 2007 will be the topic of this session. Major recent earthquake events will be discussed including the Niigata, Japan and Pisco, Peru, with a focus on key event statistics, damage and loss developments, affected assets, occupancies and market sectors, key determinations by ABS Consulting on-site investigations and modeling applications for these type events. The session will also present lessons learned about asset vulnerabilities and any modeling component changes anticipated based upon the investigations. This session will be led by our Product Development team with support from risk consulting personnel involved in some of the event investigations.

EQECAT’s Eurowind Update 2008 |
|
This session will present EQECAT’s planned update of the industry standard Eurowind model scheduled for release in 2008. The discussion will comprise significant changes contemplated for this upcoming release including an improved capital accumulation model (intra-country correlation), new country coverage, coordination with EQECAT’s planned Industrial Risk model, and a detailed flood model with a climate change model. The presentation will be led by the EQECAT Product Development team including key representatives from EQECAT’s flood and wind center of excellence group based in Paris, France.

EQECAT Model Update Preview 2008 |
|
A presentation by the EQECAT Product Development Team regarding EQECAT’s new product development process and the Product Development Schedule for 2008. This discussion will provide a view as to EQECAT’s newly adopted a client-focused development program to assure client interaction with the product development planning, scheduling and product release. Incorporated into this segment will be a presentation on the planned product enhancements for 2008 including the new Industrial Risk model, Eurowind model update and Insurance Linked Securities tool.
This will be a working lunch session. |
